Funding:
Id-Dar Tal-Providenza, which is built on faith in Divine Providence, relies entirely on the generosity of its benefactors and the public donations it receives to fund the very high level of ‘care’ its residents need in order to help them towards their eventual integration into society.
The support of our benefactors and the numerous volunteers who dedicate so much of their ‘free time’ to raising money for our residents, enables us to provide the twenty-four, seven-days-a-week, professional therapeutic, medical and educational help they deserve. Id-Dar Tal-Providenza needs to realise a minimum annual income of LM1.4M to maintain these very high levels of ‘care’.

Donations
Id-Dar Tal-Providenza gratefully receives donations from benefactors in Malta and from all over the World. Donations arrive by post or are delivered direct to our reception front desk, they also come in the form of inheritances and legacies and via newspaper and local radio obituaries where monies are requested to be sent to Id-Dar Tal-Providenza instead of flowers. Occasionally donations are received for special services and for prayers for the sick or bereaved, for newly married couples and birth of children.
Fund Raising
Id-Dar Tal-Providenza organises an annual Walking Marathon from Mgarr to Siggiewi. School pupils primarily support the event. All other fund raising events including the annual Kerygma Volley Ball Marathon and the regularly held bazaars are organised and run by the many volunteers who so selflessly give their free time to help our residents.
Prior to running a fund raising event the idea has first to be put to id-Dar Tal-Providenza who, after giving due consideration to each proposal, grant their approval for it to take place. The organisers assume the responsibility for securing all of the necessary licenses and permits as well as running the event.
Computerised Accounting and Accountability
In 1999 Id-Dar Tal-Providenza installed a computerised accounting system. The system, though very transparent-enabling fast and easy tracking of all received monies, is also very secure and is designed to provide absolute confidentiality to its donors. All donations are into the system as soon as they are received and banked daily and all donors receive a computer-generated receipt – no matter how large or small the donation is
Each year a Public Audit Company audits the Charity’s books and the resultant Financial Statements are forwarded to the Archbishops Curia where they are published together with the Aggregated Accounts of The Archdiocese. On publication a press conference takes place to which members of the press and the general public are invited
