Applications for players and volunteers who would like to participate in this year’s edition of the Volleyball Marathon in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza are open. The Marathon will kick off on Friday 1st July at 6.30pm in the car-park at Id-Dar tal-Providenza and come to an end at 11.30pm on Sunday 3rd July after 53 hours of continuous play. Applications for players close on Friday 20th May 2016.
Training sessions for players start on Wednesday 25th and will he held on consecutive Mondays and Wednesdays between 5.30p.m. and 8.00p.m and on Saturdays between 2.00p.m. and 5.00p.m.
Training sessions will be split in three phases. The first phase aims at familiarising the participants with the very basics of volleyball skills and the rules of the game. The second phase aims at intensifying the technical skills with the ball. The third phase of training helps in selecting the players who are physically fit to join the teams who will make it to the marathon challenge.
The Volleyball Marathon is a challenge which all sports enthusiasts should go for.
