Jinġabru €221,301 waqt Xarabank b’risq id-Dar tal-Providenza

Nhar il-Ġimgħa 27 ta’ Ġunju 2014, iwaqt il-programm Xarabank fuq TVM inġabret is-somma rekord ta’ €221.301 b’risq id-Dar tal-Providenza.

Il-flus miġbura se jingħaqdu mal-flus li se jinġabru waqt il-Maratona tal-Volleyball b’risq id-Dar tal-Providenza li se tinżamm fil-car park tad-Dar tal-Providenza bejn il-Ġimgħa 4 u l-Ħadd 6 ta’ Lulju 2014.

Il-maratona ta’ 53 siegħa ta’ logħob tal-volleyball se tkun inawgurata nhar il-Ġimgħa 4 ta’ Lulju mill-E.T. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca President ta’ Malta.

Xarabank raises €221,301 for Id-Dar tal-Providenza

On Friday 27 June 2014, a record sum of €221.301 was collected during the TVM programme Xarabank in aid Id-Dar tal-Providenza.  

The money will be added to the sum being collected during the sixth edition of the BOV Volleyball Marathon, being held at the care park of Id-Dar tal-Providenza between the 4th and the 6th July 2014.

The 53-hour marathon will be inaugurated by H.E. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca President of Malta on Friday 4th July 2014 at 5.30pm.

Id-Dar tal-Providenza in Conference “Promoting the Social Inclusion of Disabled Persons with Challenging Behaviour”

Seventeen members of staff of Id-Dar tal-Providenza took part in a national Conference organised by the National Commission Persons with Disability (KNPD) on “Promoting the Social Inclusion of Disabled Persons with Challenging Behaviour” that took place at the Dolmen Resort Hotel in Qawra. Main speaker at the conference was Dr Anthony Osgood, expert in the subject. As part of this project, that is co-financed by the European Social Fund, a detailed research study on the quality of life of disabled persons with challenging behaviour was carried out, training was done for staff working with such persons, ground work research related to the preparation of a policy and guidelines, as well as an awareness campaign.

At the end of the conference, the staff members of Id-Dar tal-Providenza were presented with a Certificate of Attendance in a course, organised by Outlook Coop on behalf of KNPD and the European Social Fund, primarily focusing on training required for carers of disabled persons with challenging behaviour.

Sbatax-il membru tal-istaff tad-Dar tal-Providenza ħadu sehem f’konferenza nazzjonali organizzata mill-Kummissjoni Nazzjonali Persuni b’Diżabilità (KNPD) għall-“Promozzjoni ta’ Inklużjoni Soċjali ta’ Persuni b’Diżabilità b’Imġieba Diffiċli ħafna” li saret fil-Lukanda Dolmen fil-Qawra. Fil-konferenza tkellem Dr Anthony Osgood, espert fil-qasam li ġie Malta apposta. Bħala parti mill-proġett, li huwa ko-finanzjat mill-Fond Soċjali Ewropew, sar studju riċerkat dwar il-kwalità tal-ħajja ta’ persuni b’diżabilità b’imġieba diffiċli ħafna, taħriġ għal dawk li jaħdmu ma’ dawn il-persuni u riċerka oħra li saret biex jitħejja t-tfassil ta’ politika u linji gwida kif ukoll kampanja ta’ għarfien fuq is-suġġett.

Fi tmiem il-konferenza, l-impjegati tad-Dar tal-Providenza ġew ippreżentati b’ċertifikat ta’ attendenza f’kors organizzat mill-Outlook Coop f’isem il-KNPD u l-Fond Soċjali Ewropew. Il-kors kien propju dwar taħriġ għal dawk li jieħdu ħsieb b’persuni b’diżablità b’imġieba diffiċli ħafna.

Minister Dr Farrugia and Parliamentary Secretary Dr Caruana meet the residents of Id-Dar tal-Providenza

The Minister for the Family and Social Solidarity, Dr Michael Farrugia and the Parliamentary Secretary for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing, Dr Justyne Caruana both said that the Government will soon be announcing a series of initiatives intended to continue improving the quality of life of persons with disability. They were visiting Id-Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi to meet and talk to its residents. They also found time to see the ICT Lab and the Multisensory Rooms that were inaugurated a year ago by President, now Emeritus, Dr George Abela.

Il-Ministru Dr Farrugia u s-Segretarja Parlamentari Dr Caruana jiltaqgħu mar-residenti tad-Dar tal-Providenza

Dr. Simon Busuttil iżur lill-plejers tal-volleyball waqt is-sessjoni ta’ taħriġ t’24 siegħa.

Nhar il-Ħadd 22 ta’ Ġunju 2014, il-Kap tal-Oppożizzjoni Dr. Simon Busuttil żar lill-plejers waqt it-taħriġ t’24 siegħa għall-BOV Martona tal-Volleyball b’riżq id-Dar tal-Providenza. Huwa insista fuq l-importanza tas-solidarjetà għal soċjetà sana. Dr. Busuttil kien akkumpanjat mill-Onor. Robert Cutajar u l-Onor. Stephen Spiteri.

Dr Simon Busuttil visits volleyball players during the 24 hr trial.

On Sunday 22 June 2014, the Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Simon Busuttil visited the volleyball players during the 24hr trial for the BOV Volleyball Marathon in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza. He stressed on the importance of solidarity for the well being of society. Dr. Busuttil was accompanied by the Hon. Robert Cutajar and the Hon. Stephen Spiteri.

The Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Fr. Martin Micallef, thanked the Hon. Dr Busuttil and his delegation for his visit and expressed his gratitude towards their support.

The annual marathon will be held between the 4th and 6th of July at the Grounds of Id-Dar tal-Providenza.

It-taħriġ għall-Maratona tal-Volleyball b’risq id-Dar tal-Providenza issa daħal fil-fażi finali tiegħu. L-erbgħin plejer ħadu sehem f’sessjoni t’24 siegħa ta’ taħriġ li rathom involuti għal 24 siegħa ta’ logħob bla waqfien.

Matul din is-sessjoni ta’ taħriġ saret żjara lill- plejers u l-voluntiera mill-Onor. Chris Agius, Segretarju Parlamentari għar-Riċerka, Innovazzjoni, Żgħażagħ u Sport.

Huwa faħħar id-dedikazzjoni u l-impenn tal-plejers u l-voluntiera b’risq dan il-għan.

L-Onor. Agius, appella lill- Maltin kollha biex jikkontribwixxu mill-qalb biex jinġabru l-fondi neċessarji għal din id-Dar.

Parliamentary Secretary Mr Chris Agius visits volleyball players during 24 hr trial.

The training for this year’s BOV Volleyball Marathon in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza enters its final stage, as the 40 athletes, which will form the teams of the 53-hour marathon, participated in the 24 hour non-stop trial.

The Hon. Chris Agius, Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport visited the players and the volunteers at the Dar Tal-Providenza.

He commended the players and those who take part in this marathon and thanked them for their efforts for this good cause.

The Hon. Agius also made an appeal to the Maltese to contribute towards the aim of generating much needed funds for the Dar tal-Providenza.

The Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Fr. Martin Micallef, thanked the Hon. Agius for his visit and expressed his gratitude towards the support the Hon. Agius always showed towards the Residences.
