Is-sinjura Caruana qalet li missierha baqa’ sal-aħħar anke ta’ 90 sena jaħdem fuq il-ktieb imma fl-aħħar ma felaħx aktar u ried lil bintu — Cecilia Testa — tkompli l-aħħar żewġ kapitli għalih. Il-qliegħ kollu mill-bejgħ ta’ dan il-ktieb, li jista’ jinxtara mill-Agenda Bookshops għall-prezz ta’ €15, se jmur għad-Dar tal-Providenza li kienet ħafna għall-qalb ta’ Kilin.

Waqt iċ-ċerimonja, s-Sinjura Caruana irringrazzjat lill-Ministru għall-Edukazzjoni u x-Xogħol, Evarist Bartolo, li kien l-ewwel persuna li kkuntattjat dwar l-ideja tal-bust ta’ missierha, il-Ministru tal-Finanzi, il-Prof Edward Scicluna li għen finanzjarjament permezz tal-Fond tal-Kawżi Ġusti, is-Segretarju tal-Akkademja tal-Malti, s-Sur Joe Borg u l-awtur Trevor Zahra, ħabib kbir ta’ Kilin. Kilin’s last publication launched during inauguration ceremony of his bronze bust in Rabat

The late Kilin’s last publication was launched by his daughter Mrs Rosalie Caruana. The book, entitled “…… THE ISLAND WAS CALLED MELITE” is Kilin’s own translation of the story “TINSIEX PUBLIUS TINSIEX”. The launch was made during an inauguration ceremony of a bronze bust of Kilin in Rabat, where Kilin was raised and a place he loved. Mrs Caruana said that her father worked on the book’s translation even at the tender age of ninety but at the end he had to let his other daughter – Cecila Testa – to finish off the last two chapters. All the proceeds from the sale of the book, that is selling through Agenda Bookshops for the price of €15, are in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza that was close to Kilin’s heart..

During the ceremony, Mrs Caruana thanked the Minister for Education and Labour, Evarist Bartolo, who was the first person she contacted about the idea of her father’s bust, the Minister of Finance, Prof Edward Scicluna, who helped financially through the Good Causes Fund, the Secretary of the Akkademja tal-Malti, Mr Joe Borg and author Trevor Zahra who was a close friend of Kilin.
