Community outreach at Id-Dar tal-Providenza

On the feast of St Joseph, staff, students and parents from St Joseph Senior School in Sliema spent a morning doing community work at Id-Dar tal-Providenza. The group of about 80 students was divided into teams led by parents and staff and did work on clearing out building material, cleaning aluminium windows, folding piles of laundry (around 500 sheets need folding every week) and clearing weeds in the gardens and car park. Fr Martin welcomed the school initiative and spent some time explaining the needs of the residential community at Id-Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi. The morning was such a success, the school hopes to make this activity a yearly appointment. Why not?

Fr Martin laqa’ bil-ferħa l-inizjattiva ta’ l-iskola u spjega kemm huma kbar il-ħtiġijiet tal-komunità residenzjali fid-Dar tal-Providenza. L-attività tant kienet success li l-iskola tittama li tibqa’ tagħmel din il-ħidma kull sena. Għaliex lè?

Dr Gregory Attard, Douglas Barbaro Sant, Raphael Fenech Adami u Matthew Scerri se jitilgħu il-muntanja Everest bejn l-4 t’April u l-25 ta’ Mejju b’risq Id-Dar tal-Providenza. B’kollox huma se jkunu qed jixxabbtu għoli ta’ madwar 10,000 metru. Rotta li hija meqjusa bħala waħda mpenjattiva u li qatt ma saret qabel.
